The Department of Visual Communication Design, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi, showcases its senior project exhibition, which reflects the identity and individuality of the students, integrating various subjects including their internship experiences, through research processes at the Arts Gallery, Building 2, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, RMUTT.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Napapat Charoenpol, the Chairperson of Visual Arts Program, revealed that the exhibited works involve the creation of various media related to society, culture, tradition, and the environment, as well as their application in individual projects through creative and research processes. Experts and faculty advisors provide guidance while allowing freedom in thinking and creation. Students integrate the various subjects they have studied along with the knowledge gained from internships to develop their works. There are a total of 20 booths with 20 projects, including the design of Toy characters for commercial products, character design for webtoon illustration, game production with various concept arts, production of advertisement films, and travel video clips for YouTube. The student works have been commended by visitors and some students have received scholarships for further studies at the master’s level.
Ms. Paweena Kovin describes her initiative to increase teenagers’ interest in Thai desserts and to conserve this aspect of Thai culture. She designed an online comic titled “Thai Desserts in the Late Ayutthaya Era of Thao Thong Kip Ma,” making it accessible to her target audience, the users of the LINE Webtoon application. This online comics platform is popular in Thailand, with more than 16.8 million users, and the comic is presented in an engaging 2D format that is both interesting and inviting to the readers.
On the other hand, the owner of the board game design project aimed at improving English language skills among first-grade children, Ms. Varinthorn Siddhiboon, narrates that the board game incorporates vocabulary and general knowledge into the gameplay. This educational tool is not only for studying but also for developing concentration, listening skills, memory, and analytical abilities to understand the game’s rules. The aim is to keep students or players engaged without feeling bored, while simultaneously practicing English reading skills and learning new vocabulary.
