“Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, the President of Rajamangala University of Technology (RMUT) Thanyaburi, revealed the success of the ‘From Gen Z to be CEO’ project, stating that the said project was initiated last year through a collaboration between RMUT Thanyaburi and the Department of International Trade Promotion, Ministry of Commerce. The project aimed to disseminate knowledge to new entrepreneurs (From Gen Z to be CEO), preparing students to cope with the changing world and step into the digital age. More than 1,700 students showed interest in joining the project, which was conducted through live training via Zoom Webinar. The success led to the university being awarded for Outstanding Educational Institution in Promoting New Entrepreneurs by the Ministry of Commerce. Moreover, two students from the university scored the highest, which allowed for them to be considered for internships at the Foreign Trade Promotion Office, Department of International Trade Promotion, in Vienna, Austria, and at Biz Club Company, Thailand.”
In 2022, the Ministry of Commerce approved the continuity of the project at RMUT Thanyaburi, recognizing that the program genuinely benefited the students. Therefore, it expanded the activities to include all 9 Rajamangala Universities of Technology. Currently, approximately 6,000 students have registered to participate in the project, which is expected to strengthen and prepare them for the business world after graduation.
Niti Witthayawiroj, the Director of the Office of Library and Information Technology Services at RMUT Thanyaburi who is responsible for the “From Gen Z to be CEO” project, stated that the training will commence at the end of April. The curriculum will include guest lectures from experienced speakers such as Natavudh Puengcharoenpong, CEO and Founder of Ookbee, talking about exporter experiences; Dr. Parin Fuengwut, Chief Technology Officer at RS Group, on a comprehensive online trade and logistics platform; and Pathom Intharodom, Vice President of the Thai Digital Association, on the Global Business Start-up Mindset. Before completing the course, students must pass the project’s standard criteria to receive an e-Certificate. Additionally, students who rank in the top 100 will be considered for internships with national-level organizations.
