20/12/2021Aviation students from the Faculty of Liberal Arts at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) enhance their skills and gain experience with ‘Bangkok Air’. The students from the Aviation Service Industry Program at the Faculty of Liberal Arts, RMUTT, participated in a professional experience enhancement training at Bangkok Air Aviation Training Center Co., Ltd. (BATC), a flight training center in Sukhothai province. This training bridges the knowledge from the classroom with practical work experience in the aviation industry.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, the President of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), revealed that the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Department of Aviation Service Industry, organized the RMUTT Sky Expedition – Explore and Expand your Aviation Knowledge with BATC at Bangkok Air Aviation Training Center Co., Ltd. (BATC), Sukhothai Province. The project aims to integrate classroom knowledge with practical industrial experience to provide students with the opportunity to see, learn, and immerse themselves in a real professional atmosphere, fulfilling the competencies required by the Aviation Service Industry program.
The RMUTT Sky Expedition project, which lasted for 14 days, provided students from the aviation sector with various learning experiences, including:
– Lectures on “Aircraft General Knowledge” about the workings of the different systems within an aircraft and the operations by pilots during flight.
– Special activity “Around the Airport Tour – Explore and Discover how the airport works,” where students were given a tour to observe the workings of various units at Sukhothai Airport, the operations of air traffic control officers, demonstrations by the Sukhothai Airport Fire Fighting Unit, and visits to the Cessna 172S NAV III training aircraft parked on the tarmac.
– Learning about navigation and the principles of pilot operations in preparation for actual flight and, importantly, students had the opportunity to observe real flights with flight instructors and conduct their own flight simulations.
Asst. Prof. Pongpith Tuanpusa, Vice President of RMUTT, added that aviation service industry students at RMUTT not only undergo intensive learning and practice at the university, but they also integrate cooperation with various business situations to fill multiple skills in both theory and practice professionally. This prepares them to enter the workforce, meeting the global aviation industry standards, thinking analytically about work, and being able to solve problems carefully and tangibly.
