18/04/2025RMUTT Creates “Clean Beauty” Innovation to Slow Aging from Leftover Avocados into High-Value Skincare Products, Ready to Share with the Community
Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) sparks the concept of “Clean Beauty,” integrating nanotechnology to develop an anti-aging skincare product from agricultural waste like “avocado” into the “A-SHINE Clean Beauty: The Anti-Aging Avocado Secret Collection.” This emphasizes their commitment to creating environmentally-friendly research that is safe for consumers and ready to share the knowledge with the community, inspiring the development of sustainable, eco-friendly products.
RMUTT introduces an eco-friendly idea, adding value to leftover avocados through “Clean Beauty” for anti-aging
The Faculty of Integrative Medicine at RMUTT, led by Assistant Professor Nakuntwalai Wisidsri and Assistant Suradwadee Thungmungmee, two eco-conscious researchers, have jointly developed the “A-SHINE Clean Beauty: The Anti-Aging Avocado Secret Collection.” This anti-aging cosmetic innovation under the “Clean Beauty” concept emphasizes natural ingredients and safe production processes for both consumers and the environment.
The Power of “Avocado” for Anti-Aging Extracts using Nanotechnology
Assistant Professor Nakuntwalai Wisidsri reveals the inspiration behind the development of products, which originates from recognizing the value of agricultural waste materials such as avocado peels and seeds. These are rich in essential compounds with antioxidant properties, capable of stimulating collagen production, and protecting skin cells from deterioration. The research team extracted these using low-energy nanotechnology to achieve effective extracts that nourish the skin, maintaining elasticity, moisture, and naturally youthful appearance.
“A-SHINE Clean Beauty”: Safe and Environmentally Conscious for the Modern Consumer
The “A-SHINE Clean Beauty” product line includes:
Anti-Aging Facial Cleansing Hydrogel: A gentle formula facial cleanser that thoroughly cleanses the skin while providing anti-aging benefits.
Anti-Aging Nanoemulgel: A lightweight, fast-absorbing facial gel with nano particles that deliver essential nutrients deep into the skin, reducing wrinkles and increasing moisture.
Both products are developed under the highest safety standards, free from harmful chemicals, non-irritating, and not tested on animals. Instead, they are tested on human skin cells to ensure safety and promote ethical practices in cosmetic production. Additionally, natural essential oils are used instead of synthetic perfumes, and the production process emphasizes low-energy usage to reduce environmental impact, aligning with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Disseminating Knowledge to the Community: Building a Sustainable Circular Economy
The success of “A-SHINE Clean Beauty” doesn’t end in the laboratory. The initiative is poised to transfer knowledge and production technology to entrepreneurs, especially community enterprises. This initiative aims to develop high-value products, create jobs, generate income, and promote sustainable economic growth at the local level.
RMUTT Secures Petty Patent: Reinforcing Innovation for Society and Environment
Assistant Suradwadee Thungmungmee adds that the “A-Shine Cream” has successfully applied for a petty patent. This move underscores RMUTT’s commitment to innovative and intellectual property development, focusing on environmental and societal friendliness. The product was also showcased at the “RMUTT IP & Business Matching” event to foster collaborations with the business sector in the development and promotion of sustainable products.
