17/10/2022National Housing Authority (NHA) in collaboration with the Community Organizations Development Institute (CODI) held a commemorate event and award ceremony, “World Habitat Day 2022-Thailand”. At the award ceremony, two major awards were presented to Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT).
Associate Professor Dr. Warunee Ariyawiriyanan, Director of Institute of Research and Development (IRD), RMUTT said, “The National Housing Authority (NHA) has joined hands with Community Organizations Development Institute (CODI) to hold “World Habitat Day 2022-Thailand” under the theme of Mind the Gap. Leave No One and No place Behind. Presiding over the event was Permanent Secretary of Office of the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Mr. Anukul Peedkaew along with Mr.Taweebhong Wichaidit , DASTA Deputy Director-General who gave his opening remarks at Angsue-Singha meeting room, 2th floor of Department of Social Development and Welfare, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security. Institute of Research and Development (IRD) of Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) was awarded the “Excellent Agency for Habitat Development” for giving the importance to promote environmental awareness including transformation of vacant land into community’s vegetable farm, for raising the awareness of waste management by holding “Community Waste Management” campaign, for engaging in health-promoting activities in the community and for triggering collaborative innovation and activities between university and communities to improve products and productivity including plastic extruder machine, eco-broom, logo and packaging design, and online marketing seminar. Another prestigious “Honorary Award” was given to the Vice Director of IRD Dr. Chanai Noisang for his excellence in supporting habitat development and human life quality.” Dr. Varunee added, “In 2018, led by the President of RMUTT, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sommai Pivsa-Art, RMUTT had been receiving a specific funding on Development of area-based system management by using innovation: Optimization of waste management and create value-added products in area based of Pathumthani Provinces” from Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI). Institute of Research and Development (IRD) as project leader had also been responsible for 2 research projects from Faculty of Engineering including “The Paradigm to turn Transparent Plastic Waste Bottle in Valued Added Product” conducted by head of the project, Dr. Kullawadee Sungsanit and “Production of PVC film from PVC leftovers with new PVC compound” headed by Assistant Varoonsri Jakrabutr. Currently, the research program has just conducted its on-site study at Rangsit Klong 10/2 under the supervision of National Housing Authority as a paradigm for sustainable well-being of the community. In 2021, Assigned by RMUTT as Project Manager, IRD continued to lead three U2T research projects at Bueng Sanan subdistrict including the work of Dr. Chanai Noisaeng from the Faculty of Integrated Medicine, “Application of Herbs for Herbal Massage Therapy”, Dr. Yamila Domea from the Faculty of Integrated Medicine, “Product Development for Massage Therapy” and Dr. Sukanya Chaipong from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology “Landscape Design and Construction for Health Garden and Agricultural Area”. At present, Baan Ua-athon Rangsit Klong 10/2 Community which has been supported by Dr. Chanai Noisaeng, enables to build strong management team with well fixed-funding campaign and becomes model of community health center.
