Dr. Paiboon Saiyawong, director of Division of Student Development, revealed that the university has realized that it is important to train students to have knowledge and understandings toward the changing world together with get ready for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC). So there is a travel and study program to be aware of being international. Searching for Diamonds of Rajamangala (outstanding students) was firstly happened for students to have hands-on experiences in educations, languages, communications, international cultures, along with knowledge exchanges and collaborations with well-known organizations.
Dr. Piboon also said that students who wish to apply must be in the fourth year or the just-graduated students from any faculty by focusing on students who got good grades which must be at least 3.00 and be able to communicate in English for 27 persons. In the past, this group of student had already have study trips domestically so that they learned about organizational culture and management. On March 16 – 19, they will be taken to Korea to visit well-known organizations there such as Korea University of Technology and Education, Human Resource Development Institute of Korea, Robot Manufacturing Company and Korean Art Exhibitions.
“The reason why I chose South Korea to make a study trip is because it was growing at the same time as Thailand but took greatly faster and further paces than Thailand. So Thai students should go there to learn their advancement and learn how to be successful. Furthermore, our students can exchange different culture between each other. After they come back, they have to do projects and pass on experiences to their friends” said Dr. Piboon.
