Building a Bangkok brand to improve community to meet the international standard; piloting intendly on Jatujak Market due to its facilitation.
On September 13th, 2011, the Deputy Bangkok Governor Malinee Sukavejworakit, M.D, presided over the opening of new brand of Bangkok named “Bangkok Brand” aimed at promoting Bangkok products to acceptation by international markets. She said about the Bangkok Brand that it was built along with the project of Bangkok Products Promotion and Local Selling Shop Establishment at Bangkok. This has been collaborating with Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT) and launched the “Shopping Brand” with the aim of developing product (both in short-run and long-run) and preparing enterprenuer in the small and medium enterprises (SMEs); who has passed the training and been accredited by Bangkok standard, to strengthen, troubleshoot and reduce the possible risks in their business. Moreover, this project also sets up the concepts, methods and regulations for product selections to support international markets as well as helps promote distribution channels, product publicization and potential’s’ entuerprenures to increase their sales and to expand employment opportunity.
Mrs. Sirikarn Wiboonwuthiwong, a teacher from RMUTT and a project consultant said that after the brand has been implemented, by selecting from 128 participated in the contest; the team will expectedly set up the shop which will firstly be situated at Jatujak Market.
Here, there have already been around 112 products, such as foods, beverages, clothes and accessories, souvenirs, herbs and others, joining the brand. After criteria are completely set, the products will be choosen from 50 sub-districts around Bangkok metropolitan areas. Currently, there are many communities interested in aforementioned project.
