Brown rice has high nutrient but is also has disadvantages. Its disadvantages are such as the short of preservation duration and hard texture after cooked. Therefore, there is a development of brown rice. The way to deduce the problem is to produce germinated brown rice. However, germinated brown rice need to have much more processes and well-controlled quality. If there is lack of these as mentioned, germinated brown rice will also cause the problem of next products such as cooked rice or rice juice with bad smell and less quality.

From the reason, Mr. Sarawut Sokkanad, Miss Benjawan Pongsak and Miss Sukanda Sonram, students in forth year from Food Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Fculty of Engineering, Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi have designed and invented germinated brown rice machine for household purpose, advised by  Asst. Prof. Sunan pansakorn in the purpose of fresh consumption and make germinated brown rice juice. There is anthocyanin in germinated brown rice releasing carcinogen. It expand artery helping softer, reducing HDL-Cholesterol and decreasing the risk of heart disease and Paralysis.

This machine can produce the germinated brown rice at 8-10 kilogram per day, testing its efficiency at the room temperature (~27±2oC, 60±5%RH). It is comprised with body made of stainless steel size 0.4×0.6×0.4 mater, a set of water-in valve control and water-out valve control and a set of water spay control. These work automatically with time control upon the user’s need.

From the experiment, it is founded that drenching the brown rice 3-4 hours in 1 centimeter of water thick. After that, spend 20 hours to incubate. While its incubation, there will have water spray to clean brown rice in every 4-6 hours. After 24 hours, there will be high quality of germinated brown rice which has GABA increasing 4 times from 20 mg/kg to 88 mg/kg. Moreover, it is found that spaying the water can reduce microorganisms from 25.70E+05 cfu/g to 7.5E+05 cfu/g and increase better of color and smell.
