From the column called “Doa Den Karn Suksa or Hot Education Issues” reports that Assistant.Professor.Somchai Hiranvarodom,Ph.D.,The dean of The faculty of Engineering at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi as the new president of the council of the dean of Engineering in Thailand who has currently started his role only a month together with the 1-year mission.He dreams to set the Thai Qualifications Framework for Higher Education(TQF:Hed)for all academic institutes where operating the engineering programme.This is being led by the council of the dean of Engineering Thailand which aims to be the qualification standard in Engineering Career.Now,it is during the consideration of the office of the Higher Education Commission before conducting into real practices in the future.
This is for all academic institutes where wish to open the engineering programme to use the certification of studies.He believes that this will be announced publicly within 2-3 months.When this was agreed by the committees,the request would be sent to the consideration of The minister of Education of Thailand for the next step before announcing officially in the government gazette.
I would have the cooperation with the council of Engineering which operates the certificate of career for graduate engineering students by increasing the more cooperation under the theme of network or educational knowledge throughout the consultation in the issues of international topics:How to enhance the standard of Thai engineers to become professional to worldwide’s needs.
Assistant.Professor.Dr.Somchai added that we need to emphasise Thai Engineering Students in the ability in using language(English) in order to obtain the certificate of career.This is for help Thai Engineers to the higher competition finding the right jobs between Thai and International ,having this certificate will help them to work aboard and also gain more benefits.
Hence,it is vital to emphasise our students to having the certificate of career,from the statistics only the minority having their certificate.
